MILEPOST 142

MILEPOST 142

Another week passed! Another 3 pounds - 142 total. It is getting so close. I think by the time we go to Hawaii for our anniversary trip, I should be at goal. There will be a lot to celebrate.

We haven't had any adventures this week - just the same things we do on a daily basis. We drove to Idaho last Friday and worked for Rob - Bob in the field, and me in the office. We came home on the same day. It was a beautiful day, however, and we were able to drive with the top down most of the way. Summer is teasing us - a day here and there, but hasn't been serious yet. The quote that fits this week perfectly is one from Jennie Craig.

"It's not what you do once in a while; it's what you do day in and day out that makes the difference."~Jenny Craig

I believe that is so true in a weight loss program. The entire idea behind my program is teaching me to make decisions on a daily basis that make a difference. What I eat today makes a difference in my overall health and well being. What I eat once in awhile is a choice that has to be balanced with daily moderation.
Monday is Memorial Day. We were going to make another trip to Montana. However, old man weather has another plan for us. Winter storm warnings over the pass - flooding in Montana - holiday traffic! We decided that we could spend a quiet weekend at home getting more yard work done and just relaxing.

Memorial Day - a time to reflect on our past - to remember those loved ones who have gone before us. But, we are also using it as a celebration of our future. A future that we are using to build memories for those who we will leave behind someday. A future filled with bright, happy, healthy memories.

"All of life's great lessons present themselves again and again until mastered."
- David Ashley Brewer
